Teaching music is my career goal. One subsidiary goal is to ensure my students a more fulfilling life, whether they decide to choose music as a professional or extracurricular focus. I want them to attain the ability to creatively utilize the knowledge that is gained through the form of music and use it towards everyday challenges that occur in life.

Hi my name is Bryan M. Rea, I am 34 years old and am now teaching out of home in the City of Lakewood. I have been teaching for 13 years now, I began with having a few students here and there while I was in College. It wasn't until I was out of school that I began teaching full time, which was about 8 years ago. I went to Cuyahoga Community College first, and was able to somehow declare a Major in Music although I could not receive a Music Degree there. I had fantastic instruction at the Parma Campus, where I studied a wide array of instruments and training. Those being, Piano, Guitar, Voice, Ear Training, Music Theory, as well as Music Education and Appreciation classes. I was also in the Choir there, and was a part of the Honors Recital for Voice as well as a Classical Guitar Duet that performed for CCC fundraiser events. After CCC, I Majored in Voice at Kent State University and was offered work with an Episcopalian Church to perform Sunday Mass. Finally, I transferred to Baldwin Wallace College with a Major in Classical Guitar Performance under Loris Chobanian who was the Guitar Instructor for over 40 years. I have played in a number of performing local groups around the city, and in nearly every rock venue in Cleveland. Performing with The Formula, Bafflegab, and Apes of Wrath. Bafflegab headlined multiple Saturday nights at the Grog Shop, opened for large National groups like Mr. Gnome. I have worked with Inlet Dance Company as a Composer for their Annual Cain Park Event, creating an 11 minute headlining piece for the Company. They spotlighted me as the first Composer to join them on stage. Have created an entire Animation Soundtrack for Mathew Wolosz, for his work Kouriscuro.

As far as my work, I have worked out of a number of eastside shops, including the landmark Heights Guitars that unfortunately closed it's doors. When Heights Guitars closed, I took my students with me to Academy Music Company on Warrensville Heights Boulevard, which has been the eastside staple for instrument repair for school Orchestras and Marching Bands since 1958. At the same time that I was working with Academy Music, I also worked with Fairmount School of Music, the Fairmount School of Music is one of the best Instructional facilities in Greater Cleveland, with so many qualified and fantastic well rounded teachers that I was so proudly a part of. I have instructed students with physical handicaps, autism, aspergers, and schizophrenic clients. I have had the pleasure to work with so many different types of people and different styles of music. The lowest age that I have worked with was 5 years old, I would be willing to work with a 5 year old or younger again, but it really depends on their attention span and willingness to learn. While at times I had over 20 students at a time, I thought it was finally time for me to stop wasting energy and gas by driving to the eastside 5 days a week. I am now residing in Lakewood, only a few of streets from Bunts Road, and a couple minute drive off of I-90. I was raised in Cleveland on the westside and want to rebuild my clientele over here to be close to family and friends. I work with anyone as a student, kids are awesome to work with because they generally have more time, but any student able to commit is a great student. The longest running student that I have has been with me for over 5 years. He was not able to play the bass barely at all, he stuck with it, and now he is playing with his church band weekly! He was over 50 years old when he came to me, so you are never too old to kick butt and learn something that you have always wanted to.

I do have guidelines and payment schedules as I am a Professional Instructor, if you have questions about that, then we can talk about the process. I know this is a very long entry, but if you are interested, then you deserve to know as much about me as possible. If any of you have any questions or inquiries at all, feel free to call me on my listed cell phone, I will be happy to answer any of your questions. Yes, I do teach theory, ear training and what ever else you would like, I can teach you whatever you would like to do as long as you are at the right level for what you want to learn. My prices are listed on my photo flyer here, and payments are due at the beginning of your months first lesson. Thank you, Bryan
