QR Code Link to This Post Who we are: A small family, knowledgeable in organic and experimental agriculture, wild harvesting and woods foraging, huge on mushrooms both wild and cultivated. Jared was born and raised on an entirely self sufficient homestead; he learned from his grandparents how to live off of the land while caring for it and ensuring that it could continue to sustain future generations. He continued his education by studying plant breeding, mycology and various other scientific fields. Kaitlyn was born and raised in the city; she has a background and schooling in developmental psychology and worked in child care for 6 years. Our daughter Morgan is one year old and very interested in the world around her, she is in general a very happy child and loves meeting new people. Nymeria is our 5 year old Alaskan Malamute, she is exceedingly friendly and has been raised around farm animals of all types from chickens and rabbits to cows and horses.

What we offer: We are a dedicated hardworking couple who diligently apply ourselves to whatever work needs to be done. We're happy to do everything from cutting and splitting firewood to feeding critters and cleaning out stalls in -20 degree weather. Kaitlyn has experience in commercial green house work, especially seed and plant propagation. She also has many years of experience working with children from 3 months to 10 years and especially the 1 to 5 year range. She has worked with both single as well as mixed age ranges and knows how to make sure everyone is having fun and learning despite the developmental differences. Jared has a broad range of skills relating to farming and homesteading including long term food storage, year round green houses, aquaculture, extensive animal husbandry experience, veterinary experience and has raised literally thousands of foals, calves, kids, piglets and chicks. He has vast experience working with heavy machinery, including bobcats, tractors (old, new, large and small), backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, grapple skidders, lifts and more. He also has experience in renovation and remodeling, from foundation and masonry to finish trim and everything in between. Skilled with soil improvement, remediation and compost creation. He is also an accomplished horseman having operated a fairly large boarding facility and worked with a huge variety of breeds and temperments. He started horses under saddle for seven years and trained a variety of disciplines.

What we're looking for: A place to park our 32' camper with electrical hookup and access to a bathroom/shower through the winter (or longer) in trade for a predetermined number of hours worked per week. We would love to find a place with board included so we can devote our full energy to your farm or.
