I am in need of some serious help, everyone... I am currently in a nasty custody battle with my ex for my daughter and unfortunately due to my financial situation I cannot afford the heavy retainers expected by attorneys in the area. The bottom line in all of this is that we have a hearing coming up next month and I cannot go into it unrepresented. I am a single dad, a great father and all I want is a relationship with my little girl. My ex is doing everything in her power to keep her from me, even with a court order for visitation-which is only once a week by the way-and she continues to try and blackmail me for money threatening to keep her from me unless I give her more than the verbal agreement that we have had for months before all of this got to this level.

She even went as far as to file a bogus injunction against me to try and keep my daughter from me. Even though the judge granted visitation once a week and allows phone calls, she still interrupts my time with my daughter both on the phone and visits. I have a son with special needs and I have full custody of him, and there is no way I can risk going into a hearing so she and her attorney can bury me. My fiancee' has been a great help in all of this and has a big book of every court document, emails, financials, you name it, she has it so it would make your job very easy. I can get some funds together-we can discuss those details-but all I am looking for right now is representation in this hearing and then we can perhaps make arrangements for future proceedings in family court.

Again, I am a single dad and I am doing my best to care for my son and maintain a positive and loving relationship with my little girl. I served my country for eight years in the Marine Corps, and even the VA isn't offering any type of legal assistance at this time. It is really heartbreaking as I fought for my country and survived many dangerous situations but this is one battle that keeps me awake at night.

If there is anyone out there who can relate to my situation and help a good father out, I will do my best to compensate you. I truly can't go into this alone, so someone who offers pro bono work or can offer me a payment plan to get this thing started-well, it would be a real blessing. It seems that Dads oftentimes get a raw deal in these scenarios, and although I have been providing support to her on an amount that we both agreed upon, for her it just doesn't seem to be enough. I have all the documentation that you need, and what I don't have, my fiancÃ©e can get it for you straight away.
