Cage is fully enclosed, but does not have the tray at the bottom. Included is a 1.5" thick soft foam padded dog bed with removable zip off cover (which we just took off and washed, so it's very clean- no stains or odors); CAGE HAS RUST FROM BEING OUTSIDE (first two photos are stock photos to show what it looks like when assembled and to show how it folds up; mine is pictured in the last photo to show the rust.) A little brillo and water can save you some money. I even saw a utube video that says to apply ketchup to remove the rust (let it sit on it for awhile), but I don't have time to fool with it).
