This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their talents to the fullest and make a positive contribution to the planet. Frankly, I have no intention of sharing space and spending time and teaching someone who is not growth and contribution oriented. You must be someone who is constantly learning new things and skills on your own. We'll enable you to take that natural learning inclination and kick it into Over Drive ! We have an excellent library including books and dvds on a multitude of subjects and an excellent fully equipped shop for fabrication and maintenance.
Extraordinary and extremely high quality of life largely outside of the "money economy" so if you are looking for lots of money - look elsewhere. If you are looking for a heck of a learning experience and a High Quality of Life in a beautiful environment - this could be it! This is a full time working and learning opportunity and is not compatible with other outside schooling or employment. This job is also not suitable with someone with dependents as it is structured to feed and house only a single individual.
Requires a truly exceptional individual who is very intelligent, mechanically inclined, versatile and loves to learn new things. You may be short on experience in some of these areas but as long as you are very long on talent, potential, energy and enthusiasm, the experience will come from tackling the projects. About half the time is spent on Special Project work. It's usually some sort of improvement usually related to environmental sustainability or retrofitting. Sustainability projects on the agenda are installation of a solar array, building chicken and rabbit tractors, getting the hydroponic / aquaponic greenhouse up and running, green manuring the growing area, fencing and a host of other projects. The other half is a mix of and a mix of Office, Errands, Maintenance, Electronics Fabrication and Testing (we will train you ) Light Landscaping Cooking and Cleaning.
A good driving record, excellent character references, and excellent work history a must. Must be Non Smoker and no illegal drugs allowed. Physical requirements include the ability to switch out tractor implements and operate a chainsaw. This is not a large portion of the work but it is a physical requirement of the job. Fringe benefits cover most of the basics. Private, Furnished Bedroom, High speed internet, access to computer, limited phone and long distance provided. Access to excellent household library, gym, home theater, shop and tools is also a big plus. There is additional monetary compensation sufficient to cover personal expenses for items not provided.
