Need location sound mixer/boom op for docu-style coverage of the Movement 4 Black Lives conference THIS WEEKEND (Fri, Sat, Sun 7/24-7/26). Experienced students welcome to apply.
We're a crew of out of town film professionals volunteering our time and talent to capture the event in a cinematic way. None of us are great with sound, so we're looking to hire (paid) a local pro or student interested in helping us out with (video) sound this weekend.
We would need you to wrangle sound. We'll have three DSLRs and a Zoom H6 with both a wired and a wireless lav to add to your own kit depending on the needs. It is doc-style and we'll have shotgun mics on each camera, but we'd like to have a boom on standby to get clean sound of anything interesting that might transpire. Beyond that we'd need your help/expertise deciding how to get clean sound of the speeches and other program audio. (Hiding our wireless at the podium or getting clean sound out of their board into our Zoom, etc.)
Finally, you DON'T have to be black, but to be honest, this is an almost fully black event focused specifically on starting a healing conversation WITHIN the community, so if you feel comfortable working in that environment, you are more than welcome to apply!
