Professional musicians often want a copy of old tape recordings just to hear them again, or revive abandoned musical projects from years back. Analog studio recordings from previous eras may not readily transfer to digital formats without specialized treatment in advance. Master tapes from the late 1970s through the early 1980s in particular had a unique coating which did not withstand the passage of time well: These usually require the "pre-transfer" processing expertise available from Tape Vault Studio in San Francisco.
2" 24 and 16-track, 1/2" 2-track and 8-track, 1/4" 2-track and 4-track are set up to whatever alignment tones are on the tape to secure the most accurate transfer possible. Noise Reduction: Dolby A/SR, dbx type I & II. Cassette tapes can also be repaired and transferred.
