We are looking for a few clients with dogs that are a good fit to come stay in our home when their parents are out of town. Ideally the parents would travel on a somewhat regular basis as we don't want to repeat the matching process over and over.

The idea started with our dog and the choice of boarding him when we go out of town which we do not want to do and hiring a dog sitter to come to our house. We hire the dog sitter but we feel bad that he is sitting in an empty house all day doing nothing except for the 3 times a day the dog sitter stops by. The idea is your dog comes to stay with us and it is their home away from home while you are away.

We are active so your dog could go for walks, jogs, to the park, Riverwalk, etc. It can beg for table scraps, bark at the squirrels in our back yard, play with our small dog (20lbs). We will cuddle, scratch, hang out with, throw the ball, whatever. It will just be part of our family for the time when you are away. We own our home, has a fenced in backyard and sidewalks in our neighborhood for walks. We would only take one dog at a time.

The way I envision the selection process is you email me a picture and description of your dog and travel schedule. I will probably have questions. If it is a good initial fit we can meet up in person at a park or our home and let our dogs play together, we get to 'meet' your dog. We both go home and sleep on it. If it is still a fit your dog can come for a trail sleepover for one night for free. If everything still works out we are your new dog sitter.

Here are some conditions we have;

- only one dog
- under 25 lbs
- no chewing issues
- no regular accidents inside
- no fleas, diseases, etc
- your dog must be reasonably well behaved
- no major medical issues
- no 'escape artists'
- good around other dogs
- good around kids
- wife has to be sure she is not allergic

$25 per night, $15 for the day
