My name is Matt Thompson and I'm a drum instructor and professional musician. Im based in Los Angeles but I'm very excited to be offering Skype lessons in your area! Believe it or not, technology has gotten to the point that you can take drum lessons from a L.A. drummer right from your home. I teach both adults and kids of all ages and all playing levels.

I've been playing my entire life (I'm 28) and teaching for the better part of a decade. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance that I earned from my time studying at Berklee School of Music in Boston and Musicians Institute here in L.A. I have had the honor of sharing the stage and studio with some awesome artists. They include: John Waite, Mike Clink (Producer: Guns n Roses, Heart), JR Richards (Formerly of Dishwalla), Dwight Yoakam, and Marc Bonilla.
How The Lessons Work:
The lessons are catered to your goals and learning style. If you're a beginner, I have a proven system that will have you playing along to your favorite music on the very first day. If you've been playing for a while, just let me know what you'd like to get out of your lessons and we'll make it happen. We can break it down to the basics and work on technique, or we can work on fills and grooves for your next gig.
All you need is a computer with a webcam and internet connection. Simply go to skype.com and right there is a button to download Skype. After that just make an account and you're good to go. The lessons are a half hour (to start, we can eventually increase to an hour lesson) and cost $30 (payment through PayPal). A work sheet will be emailed to you before our lesson for you to print and once the lesson is complete I will film a follow up video briefly going over everything we learned that day and send you the link.
