I'm devastated to have to part with my wonderful 2 year old gray cat Harold. Unfortunately, my other cats bully him relentlessly & it's in his best interest to find him a home where he can live in peace.

I took Harold home from my school about 6 months ago. I'm a vet tech student, so we get cats from the Newberry Animal Shelter. He was so sweet & loving, that when I learned that he was going to be euthanized when he went back to the shelter, I had to take him home with me. My cats hated him right away, but I figured that they would eventually get used to each other. Well, it's 6 months later & they are still bullying him terribly. I just moved from Irmo to Little Mountain (just outside of Chapin) & at my old house I was able to keep him separate from the other cats because I had 6 bedrooms. Our new house only has 3 bedrooms, so keeping him separate is not an option.

My only options are to re-home him, take him to a shelter, or let him live outside. If he goes to a shelter he will surely be euthanized because he is not a kitten, making him not as in-demand as a pet. If I let him live outside he will most likely become a victim of the many foxes and coyotes we have around here. So, re-homing him is the ideal option.

He is a wonderful cat. He's playful, always purring & rubbing his face on everyone, and a major cuddle-bug when he's not around the other cats. He will win over anyone's heart that meets him. He would be best in a home with no other cats, or a home where he can be separated from other cats. He does very well with my timid Siamese, so he would be ok with sweet, non-dominant cats, and he seems to do well with my dogs too. I also have 2 young children that he gets along well with.
