know this probably sounds like a strange request but you never know when it's your time to go & if something ever happened to me I don't have anyone that could continue caring for my little chihuahua. So I'm looking for a god mother & someone I can become friends with just incase anything ever happens to me. All of my friends either don't want pets or the 1s that do don't take care of their pets as well as I do! I'm very picky bc I don't want her to end up with just anyone! I need to make sure you're VERY financially stable & have a good vet reference! I need to make sure you can afford to take care of her & have enough money for vet visits every year, monthly medicines such as heartworm & flea(I WILL ASK TO SEE PROOF OF VET RECORDS & FLEA MEDICINE) & be able to pay for her somewhat expensive food. I have her on 1 of the healthiest dog foods in the world. It costs $27 for a 5lb bag & she usually goes thru a bag every month to month & a half. Heartworm & flea meds usually run about $130 for a 6 month supply. Her vet bills every yr can cost anywhere between $200-$500. I usually buy the 7 in 1 shot myself from double m feed & just do it myself to save money(only bc I know how to give shots, if you don't then you need to have the vet do it!) but I have to bring her to the vet every yr to get her rabies shot, heartworm test, full body exam, a full blood panel done & occasionally a dental. I only go to 1 doctor bc I trust her & she is great at her job! I take her to Dr. Allison Wegman at MSAH. Right now she is 5yrs old & well behaved. She is spayed & chipped too. She is trained to go outside & on potty pads. She's not like most chihuahuas! She's not mean & she doesn't bark alot. She only barks if someone comes to the door or if she hears someone close to the door. Once I tell her to stop she does. She's very loving & likes to give kisses. She also likes to lay on me or next to me on the sofa & sleep with me. So if you are 1 of those people that doesn't allow pets on furniture then please don't bother contacting me! My dog is like my daughter! She is family! I would prefer someone that doesn't have any kids or atleast no young kids, preferably no kids under 16! She gets along with kids but I know how kids can be & I don't want her getting hurt! I also prefer someone that has only small dogs, once again I don't want her getting hurt! She's never been around cats before so I'm not sure how she will do but I prefer no cats bc cats have very sharp claws that could easily hurt her. I also don't want anyone that already has more than 2 dogs & your current pets need to be on flea medicine EVERY month & have a flea free home bc my little girl is highly allergic to fleas! So I have to make sure she stays away from any flea infested pets or homes! She is an inside dog ONLY! The only time she goes outside is to use the bathroom. So if your pets live outside & hardly ever come inside do not contact me! She overheats quickly & gets really cold in the winter. Also if you believe in hitting pets to correct them do not contact me! I also want someone that shares my same beliefs when it comes to pets. What I mean is when you adopt a pet it is a lifelong commitment, NO EXCUSES! Some dogs can live to be 21. My last dog lived to be 18.5 yrs old & I had him his whole life. I got him when I was 12 yrs old when he was just a puppy. He died when I turned 30. We literally grew up together! I don't want anyone that would give up my dog bc they decide to have a baby & wont have time for my little girl anymore! If you can't handle having a baby & a pet, then you shouldnt be having a baby in the 1st place! Would you give up your 1st child bc you had a 2nd child & won't have time for the 1st child anymore?? No you wouldn't so Im tired of all the excuses! I don't want someone that has to move where they don't allow pets & give her up. I would sleep in my car if I couldn't find a place for both of us to live! Which is a prime example of why I need to make sure the person is financially stable bc if you have money then you should be able to find a place that accepts pets! I don't want someone that will give up on her when she gets old & sick bc they don't feel like dealing with it! I also do not believe in euthanasia! The way I look at it is would you KILL your grandmother bc she's old & sick??? No you wouldn't! You would bring her to the hospital get her on meds & do whatever you can to save her life & make her feel comfortable until it's her time to go. I don't agree when people say that it's mean to let them suffer. Any way you look at it, it is KILLING in my eyes! Dying is in the cards for everyone & I don't think it's right to kill someone even if they are in pain. That's why they made medicine & pain killers. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & that is mine so I want the person that I trust to take care of my dog to share my same beliefs & not put my dog down just bc she gets old & sick! I want someone that will TRY to do everything to save her life no matter what it costs. I'm looking for a true animal lover who treats their pets like family! I would also prefer someone in their 30s or early 40s just bc I don't know when I'm going to die & I would prefer someone closer to my age to take care of her. It would also be great if you lived in Metairie or Kenner seeing how that's closest to me & I very rarely go to new orleans bc of all the crime & murders that seem to take place on a daily basis. So if you are financially stable, knows how to take care of dogs, is very responsible & makes sure they are up to date on all shots & medications & doesn't ever miss doses, is very loving & shares in ALL of my beliefs then please email me so we can talk & set up a time to meet me & my baby. And please do not respond unless you are serious & exactly what I'm looking for & share in all of my beliefs! I will not respond to any idiots that want to argue with me, you will be ignored bc I don't have time to deal with people that want to fight! I have very high standards when it comes to my baby & that's the way any true animal lover should be! I need to make sure whoever gets her does a good job at taking care of her & doesn't get rid of her! I look forward to meeting anyone that wants to be friends & take care of my baby after I'm gone!
