Licensed Landscape and Irrigation Contracting

QR Code Link to This Post We are Degreed Horticulturists, NCICLB Licensed Irrigation Contractors and NCLCLB Licensed Landscape Contractors.

We have been designing, building/installing and servicing/maintaining landscapes in Wake County and surrounding counties since 1968.

We know the plant materials which do well here.
We know what the weather does to plant materials here.
We know through Knowledge/Education and Experience how to grow plant materials here.
We know how to Design-Install-Maintain Landscapes here.

We take the utmost pride in doing work right the first time. We do not cut corners to make an extra dollar at your expense.

Now IS the time to begin planning your upcoming 2017/2018 Fall/Winter/Spring Landscaping projects and laying out a horticulturally correct schedule that will maintain and improve the curb appeal your landscape brings to your home.

A SPECIAL NOTE:

We have seen CL ads offering pruning of shrubs in Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec---that is Horticulturally Wrong. Pruning after bloom-set removes flower buds that you would need for flowering next year. Just some things an experienced Horticulturist knows.
Some plants flower on 'old' wood, and some flower on 'new' wood. The individual doing the pruning must know the difference.
Proper pruning is performed at the correct time of the season for that specific variety of plant material. So, pruning is an ongoing practice, not one that is done twice a year. Now may or may not be the time to prune your different flowering plants...do those performing these services for you have the knowledge and experience to do this important service for you?

and do remember:

Proper pruning uses layering techniques---not gas powered crew-cut shearing.
If your landscape was not pruned correctly this past Spring and the same incorrect procedures are continued, in a few years you will see the results---large overgrown shrubs, leaves only on the exterior branches-none on the interior branches, no light or air able to enter to the interior of the plant, heavy infestations of insects and fungus, dead and dieing plants for which you paid to be maintained in a healthy and vigorous condition. We are maintaining landscapes that we installed as far back as 25+ years ago, and they are the original plant materials, still looking healthy and growing vigorously. We have others that we took over after the original materials were incorrectly maintained. Some of these plants were able to be salvaged and are now looking like they should have from their original date of installation, the others...they had to be removed and replaced, sadly for the homeowner, a cost that was not necessary.

Now is the time to be PLANTING not pruning!
