Math Tutor SAT SHSAT Regents GED I helped over 60 students succeed (Queens)

Dear Math Students,
Over five-plus years of working as an independent tutor as well as under tutoring companies, I will now release some of my findings to help you with the process of understanding what good tutoring is.
First, you must be focused on problem solving. This will give you a sense of how to typically perform during a test. Lecturing will come along as we encounter the topics in the problem set. Math is all about knowing the detailed operations to perform and process along towards the answer. The best way to learn these is by problem solving.
For myself, I like to believe I can solve anything you show me. This is a requirement for whoever you will be working with.
The more hours you have under your belt of problem solving, the more your senses will be tuned with solving problems. Whether for SAT, GED, or SHSAT, you will become acquainted with the expectations as you gain exposure to the practice tests.
There should also be questions being asked to the students all along, making the session an interactive experience.
One on one is definitely preferable to groups. This allows for all sorts of techniques that the tutor can use to communicate with the student.
An ideal scenario would be where the student is given a packet of problems before hand, these problems are attempted by the student, and the wrong ones are gone over during the session.

Before you even begin tutoring there are many steps you can take to achieve results. Go to edinformatics.com and click on K-12 testing. Print out tests that match your grade level, such as Regents, including answer key. This is FREE and will get you very ahead. It's only if you have a long list of unanswered problems that you will need someone to show you how to answer it.
Make sure your reading level is high. Read NY Times or Wall Street Journal regularly. Make note cards for vocabulary, that you can carry and flip through at your leisure.
When you have a tutor, one great way to get things ahead is by looking at previous tests that you did poorly in. Make the tutor solve all the wrong problems. It's important to study and tutor strategically.
I can help with the following tests:
Common Core K-12, Regents, SAT, SHSAT, ACT, GED, ASVAB, Advanced Placement or AP, and more.
