Missouri Department of Transportation Facilities have been involved in Immoral Tire Buying Practices at a minimum under Governor Jay Nixon including : 1. purchasing tires under the "good old boy" program with local tire companies rather than looking at "all" discounted tire programs in an unbiased fashion 2. Purchasing of "used" tires at an age of up to 10 years old which is a major DOT violation at a huge discount and placing them on the front axles of Heavy Highway equipment. Note--local tire companies typically have very little cost in these tires considered scrap!
