Choose before Christmas and it will be ready to re-home after Christmas and New Year on and after January 6th 2018 at $45(cash) for each baby. Pictures show babies with mother. Mother stays with me. Baby or babies will come with a new bag of food and some bedding to set them up in their new home you will provide. I will offer a paper of Guinea pig care suggestions for first-time Guinea pig owners. I will meet in Palestine to deliver your Guinea pig furry-baby to you.

I am posting pictures of babies at two hours old, and barely dried. Updated pictures will follow. I will open contact options in a couple of weeks when babies are closer to being old enough to re-home. Babies are waiting for new names chosen by YOU. This includes two babies that are white with orange patches (Flame and Fire) and one baby that is white with an orange-and-black eye patch like a pirate (Ember). (Parents are Piper and Whistler- I have both). I hold the babies but you will still need to give them a lot of hands-on attention during the first weeks of their lives to keep them tame and gentle. They will calm down after about a year, in my experience, and be less nervous. Baby Guinea pigs should not be allowed to run free unattended until about five or six months old when they are smarter. I will hold babies/baby for you on a first come first served basis for 24 hours on a future pick-up date before I contact the next person in line. This is IMPORTANT because Guinea pig furry-babies mature rapidly in the first year, being born fully furred with eyes wide open, adorably furry and curious, as in the picture, and they will mature between six to eight months of age. During this time they need to attach to their new owner(s) ASAP.

Guinea pigs live about five years and love free time to roam the house or a room when safe and will whistle for food, water, attention, you, and each other. Be cautious about things that could trap or fall on your furry-friend while they explore. Some Guinea pigs will chew cords but so far I have not had a problem with the Guinea pigs I have. Guinea pigs like discarded paper rolls and paper to chew and move around. Make sure they do not eat plastic or anything causing indigestion. They will need a large cage with a PVC pipe or other cubby they cannot chew away and at least one water bottle and a feed dish.

If you choose just one Guinea pig, they will look to you for all of their love, attention, and interaction as a furry-friend. If you don't have a lot of time at home during the week to spend with them I suggest two or three Guinea pigs so they are happier. Other pets in the house help your Guinea pig not be lonely. However, as long as you spend as much time as possible with your pet and provide water bottle, feed dish, mineral block, wheels, tunnels, or small balls, bells, or boxes for alone playtime and feeding time. You can still have just one happy Guinea pig. Recommended: an exercise wheel but know it may rattle or squeak when your Guinea pig runs so place it where it is not bothersome or oil the wheel occasionally. Wheels can be removed at night and replaced during the day if needed, as Guinea pigs are naturally nocturnal and may increase activities at night when you are trying to sleep.

Guinea pigs can be NOISY when they feel safe and curious and interactive with their environment. I recommend owner/children READ A SHORT GUINEA PIG BOOK, with a lot of pictures to look at if they don't read yet, before they bring their baby Guinea pig furry-friend home. This encourages not only useful reading and anticipation of a new pet for the child or owner, but also teaches the child how to "professionally" care for baby Guinea pig pets and learn responsibility beneficial to them as they mature.

Guinea pig baby will need both cuddle time and rest time as they WILL STILL BE BABIES until about eight months old and need a LOT of attention during the first weeks and the first year to be the attached, playful pet you want it to be. With school still in, this is a good time to get a BABY. A Guinea pig baby can have a peaceful day then a few hours of playtime after school with a child. By the time school lets out for the summer, these babies will be old enough for a longer play date. Choose your special name for your Guinea pig, then prepare to relax and enjoy your whistling, furry fellow, and allow it to amuse you while you laugh.

Your Guinea pig will know it belongs to you by your interaction and attention. Guinea pigs seldom need vet visits and tend to be healthy in my experience, but keep a vet in mind for emergencies. Guinea pigs are less complicated than a cat, less demanding than a dog, and are a furry companion like a rabbit. Choose your favorite baby Guinea pig. Look for contact information in a couple of weeks. Thank-you for your interest, I look forward to sharing the amusement of having a pet Guinea pig with you.
