Painting Your Portrait (Midtown East)

People send me photographs taken of themselves in historical reenactments, costumed conventions, or as actors on stage. I also paint family, kids and pet portraits and freeze those images in time to save as art. Some people will send a photo of an object to be painted that represents a hobby or interest. All of these subjects are fun for me to paint if they evoke a positive reaction from the viewer. I just finished a painting of an Atlas Centaur rocket from the 1960s that someone worked on back in those days. It was a special memory for them. As an artist and photographer, I have never been able to achieve the same "magic" or emotion from a person with a photograph that I can get from a painting on canvas.

I paint for people from Renaissance Fairs as Elizabethan and Pirate characters, World War 2 and Civil War groups, Revolutionary War groups, Native American groups, Rendezvous groups, Roman and Viking groups, Sci-fi fans in costume at conventions, Actors on Stage, characters from Jane Austen novels, and always families, kids, pets and hobby objects. So much effort, time and research go into these passionate activities, that preserving the history of it for people on canvas, gives me as an artist, great satisfaction. Prices range from $200-2500. depending on size of canvas, complexity of subject(s). Contact me with any questions. If you have a photo of something special, I will do my best to make it happen for you. Use the contact page on the website below or use the Craigslist Reply button at the top of the page to contact me. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I am also open to working with portrait photographers so they may offer extra services to their clients.
