We can only imagine the challenge you face in considering adoption and appreciate the loving choice you are making for your child. We are grateful that your decision, although difficult, may give us (or others) the chance to create a family.
We are Joe and Naomi, a young couple living a full and wonderful life in Portland, Oregon. We have always wanted to build our family through adoption. We own our home and both have stable, fulfilling jobs and deep roots and community in Portland.
Some important things about us:
- We both worked in inner city preschools and as nannies and we have many young children in our families so have lots of experience with kids.
- We love Italy and plan to spend significant time there throughout our lives so our kids can learn the language and culture. Joe teaches Italian, and last year we lived in Italy for six months.
- We are big environmentalists and Naomi works in energy efficiency. We have solar panels and try to live with as green as possible.
- We are close to our families and have many relatives who live nearby and will help support our children in a loving extended family.
- We have both arranged with our jobs to be home part time when we have young kids.
We are committed to openness in the adoption and feel it's important for our kids to know where they come from. We have an adoption lawyer and a State of Oregon approved home study and would help secure a lawyer for you as well.
