I know many people who work with Labor Ready, and as you say, it's a last hope. When a company I worked for several years ago needed some help for a job, we turned to Labor Ready and what we got were un-showered people who reeked of cigarettes and alcohol, they were also dressed in trashy clothing. We sent them away because we could not have them on a customer site like that.
