Second Original Indie Rock Guitarist Wanted (Not a Cover Band) (Milwaukee, WI)

INDIE ROCK BAND SEEKS SECOND GUITARIST

Hello. We hope YOU are the next person to join our band. It would be appreciated if you would take the time to read the entire ad.

www.reverbnation.com/thesystemlights

We are searching for guitarist for recording and touring.

Our music is considered indie rock but also has a wider, mainstream appeal. Rather than list influences and what we think we sound like, we will let you decide for yourself. We can say we would (and have) be played on 102.1 as opposed to The Hog. Please provide some stuff you have done (if you have some) as well as detailed information about yourself.

We are a serious band that works hard to (hopefully) stand out among so many indie bands in Milwaukee and elsewhere. We would for now, like to play shows within a 6 to 8 hour radius We do have an upcoming trip to New York for a radio performance in October. We have a realistic outlook but want someone who is more than a hobbyist. Please, NO BEGINNERS. Some of the things that we need in a guitarist are:

Someone who really feels the music and has no drug or alcohol problems.

Tasteful playing with cool ideas for counter melodies and textures. We are not looking for overly technical musicians. Less is more. we appreciate the elaborate solos of Joe Satriani and guitarists like him but our music has very short, melodic solos and sometimes none. It would be great if you had gear to fit our sound (Telecaster, Gibson, Richenbacher etc.). While this isn't absolutely necessary at first, eventually we would need instruments that fit the sound as opposed to guitars geared toward hard metal, punk and other genres we are not doing.

The look. Please look like you are a musician. We're not saying everyone has to be uniform. But, a cool style/image is important in branding and marketing a band if you are trying to compete on the level that we are. People usually just get this or they don't.

Money. If you are playing original music, recording and promotion does require some investment. We try to eliminate costs and keep things manageable but understand that it is going to require some monetary output on everyone's part. It will be (and has been) worth it.

Work ethic. If getting to where we want to be was easy, everyone would be doing it. Please be willing to work hard and not come up with excuses to get out of things, once the novelty of being in a band wears off. Don't mean to sound harsh but too many people just like to talk and not "do."

Your contributions to help with promotion and all-around band activity would be very helpful, but not an absolute requirement. We want someone who wants this as bad as we do.

We have a good thing going. We are not the best band in the world but thousands of fans on multiple platforms in many countries must mean something. Band has been nominated for awards on 88.9 Radio Milwaukee for the past two years and "Alternative EP Of The Month" for June 2015 on Akedemia, which is a music promotions company in L.A. Currently played on many internet and traditional indie radio stations as far away as Ecuador.

If you have read this far and this sounds like something you would like to put effort into, we would love to hear from you. There is lots more to talk about. Thank you very much for.
