I play drums, scream, and sing.
I'm looking for someone who basically does the same but plays guitar instead of drums.
If you play bass, that's cool too.
My influences are all over the place but if I had to pinpoint where I at the very least see this project starting from is somewhere close to these two songs. Listen to Deftones - "Leathers" and Underoath - "Paper Lung" for a good idea of musically where I'm coming from.
I really just want to jam and come up with songs over time, record songs raw often, possibly play some shows when we're confident with the material and see where that takes us.
This is a fairly casual project as I work 60+ hours a week sometimes and sadly cannot have practices on weekly basis, biweekly would be best.
Sometimes we'll be singing and it will be very melodic, the next we could be screaming our lungs out, and other times the song could very well go an instrumental route.
I'm not asking for ace musicianship here, it's more about the passion. I've been playing drums for a little over a year so I'm nowhere near spectacular, but have wanted to make music for as long as I can remember.
Finally, one last weird quirk sure to scare off anyone that might still be interested.
I have a basic concept for the lyrics that we'll be writing and would love for the person/people I'm collaborating with to be actively involved in this creative process as well.
