Meet Bello, a very handsome blue-grey pitbull-boxer mix, male, about 2 years old, weighing about 50 lbs. He's stocky, short and active. LOVES to have you throw a ball for him, which he will bring right back. No issues with strangers or resource guarding. Bello was dropped off at a Staten Island Shelter when his owner ran into the NYCHA ban on dogs larger than 35 lbs. His owner reports that he has lived with kids and other dogs and that he is housetrained. Bello longs for a family of his own again. A friend who kept him for the weekend reported that he was a perfect gentleman, slept in his dog bed, no accidents, gave lots of love and was a pleasure to have in her home and car. Bello very much wishes to please his person. A good companion dog for Bello will be a female, with a mellow style, not a female with a pushy in-your-face play style. He's a very nice dog, with stunning eyes. Bello was rescued from a high kill shelter. There is an application process, which includes a home visit and reference check. After you fill out the application, we will bring Bello to meet you. All dogs are up-to-date on shots and have been neutered or spayed. All adoptions start as two week trial 'sleepovers'.
