Slant Front Writing Desk /Game table
Circa 1880's +/-
Wonderful Primitive quasi-mosaic wood work patterns all over,
possible Pennsylvanian Dutch.
(8) Glass knob-ed drawers
(1) central lower drawer
(4 ) open letter boxes inside slant front.
(1) Pull out Checker/ Chess Board
(1) heart shaped lock on slant front with (2) support chains.
Their is a grease pencil writing on inside of underside Stating something like "P M Preswurtz City" I could be way off here too.
Very ornate -due to its age - there are some wear on legs of all the ornate mosaic design and some marks on desk part. It just adds to patina, beauty and story this piece could tell. Structurally very sound hand made piece.
Dimensions: 28 1/2" Wide, 17 1/4" deep (33" with Slant front open) by 46 1/2" tall.
