VERSATILE, PRO QUALITY DRUMMER LOOKING FOR GIGGING BAND (KC Area)
Hey there,
I'm Dave, I play drums and percussion and also sing.
I am 35 and have been playing since I was 5, so you can do the math on that one. I have pro gear and laid back attitude. No ego here. Very flexible on practice times and locations. Just getting back to KC after a 2 month stint in Wisconsin (no not in prison, but up with family).
As for what I am looking for, I am looking to play shows. Big shows, little shows, but would like a band that is gigging or in the process of getting gigs. Not really looking to be gone for months at a time though, so something fun and semi-local would be ideal.
*Please do not bother contacting me if you don't have gigs booked or have at least had gigs in the past or in the process of getting gigs. I am not trying to be rude, but being upfront. I have got a lot of responses from bands just starting and that is not what I'm looking for.
Music type?
I am pretty open to all styles, just gotta be a good fit. Blues, Jazz, Rock, Rap, Funk, originals, covers, you name it I can play it. I have been classically trained, so I do have the beat and fundamentals on lock. I have brushes and other alternative sticks and know how to use them, so I am a little more than just a "banger." I tend to use my head and ears as much as my hands and feet. I have a lock on the groove and can be gig ready faster than you might think.
My ideal situation would be to play out as much as possible. I'm totally open to any genre as long as you are gigging, wanting to gig or booking gigs on a frequent basis. I'm not looking to make a million bucks, but every musician that plays out wants to make something, right? Even if it's gas and food money.
As I stated above and I am not trying to be picky or pricky, but I am looking for something that is put together and preferably has shows booked or being booked in the very near future. Would be a great fit for a band gigging whose drummer is leaving them. I am just trying to find the best fit for both parties.
