Looking to have a short documentary made highlighting what prenatal visits with midwives are like, what the role of a birth & postpartum doula is, what a successful home birth looks like and finally the postpartum care that both the midwives and doulas provide.

My first child was born in 2010 at a birthing center in the metro area with a doula and it was amazing. Therefore, I was in a panic when i moved from the metro area, to rural Fergus Falls, I was 25 weeks pregnant and refused to see a male ob, but to my dismay that is all i could find in the area. I was finally blessed with finding a midwive, but had to drive to the Alexandria area to do so. Than i got the devastating news that was she was due with her child around the same time I was, so she would not be able to continue seeing me. As a result, I was very distraught because our local hospital has an astonishing high number of cesarean births and I knew I had no interest in advocating for myself and the way i wanted to birth, mainly, out of the bed for my entire labor. Luckily, the midwife in Alexandria knew another very seasoned midwife who practiced home births. However, I had to drive all the way from Fergus falls to Long Prairie for my prenatal visits. It was all worth it though because as a result, my second child was successfully born at home, with two midwives present and it was even more amazing than my first birth.

As a result, I have become very passionate about trying to spread the word about natural births and the valuable services midwives and doulas can provide. Therefore, several of my friends, family, the local doulas and the midwives around this area, have all told me that we should get a short documentary put together, so this is my first attempt to see if there is any interested film makers that would be willing and able to put together a truly birth changing, educational.
