We are a special kind of Farm Stay. This charming 2-story Country Carriage House is a great place to watch the sky change moods, run off to go swimming, exploring/hiking/fishing at the little-known nr-private park around the corner, and a mile down the road is Bread & Puppet, or go E. to nearby Burke Mtn. and Kingdom Trails, go W. to Craftsbury, SE to St. Johnsbury or New Hampshire (White Mtns), North to Newport or into Canada, or be here and have fun, enjoy a romantic escape, cook up something yummy in the open kitchen (lots of spices and kitchenware -- plus a breakfast nook upstairs), or go out to nearby eateries after a day of outdoor activities. Come and de-stress, slow down, smell the balsam firs, go sit in the cool breezes or the south woods behind the Guest House, explore the woodland trail leading through our north woods to the old logging road, or just relax and rejuvenate. We are between events-filled Burke Mtn. and Kingdom Trails (100 miles of great trails, world-class mtn. biking events, more) and Craftsbury (the Craftsbury Open Ctr, has over 40+ miles of groomed trails for hiking, etc.). Up here the air is clean and our well water is healthier than what people buy in bottles. We also have a water cooler that dispenses hot and cold water. Come hang out in nature, feed our animals, or knock yourself out with a wide choice of nearby activities. Curl up on the futon couch watch DVDs, Netflix, HDTV, use your laptop with the unltd. data usage/WiFi, or read, do jigsaws, play cards, Mah Jong, Chess or Scrabble at the table. Upstairs you can also play games (2 sets of Scrabble to get better letter combinations), etc., in front of the LARGE picture window -- or just take in the beauty and peacefulness, and watch the antics of our protected animals.

You can also go explore the near-private preserve around the corner (waterproof hiking boots are a good idea if you want to hike up to the 2nd pond & go exploring, or go up a 1/2-hr challenging climb to the Scenic Outlook). Bread & Puppet Theater is a mile down the road, Circus Smirkus is in Greensboro & Hardwick (great eateries & a food co-op in Hardwick), Craftsbury has concerts & more in summer, and Farmers' Markets in this region offer great foods & crafts. Smoking outside only. The Organic Guest House Garden currently has herbs (parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, tarragon, oregano, chocolate mint, dill, basil) and lettuce/greens going. Lots of Broccoli Raab, garlic/bunch onions, bok choy, Swiss chard, some spinach, Italian zucchinis, kale, radishes, arugula. Corn did not happen due to weather & crows. Tomatoes, peppers, prob. by mid-August, baring blight. Purple cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts later.
