I offer a "home-like" setting. My whole house will be open to your child as it is to my daughters, 3 and 1. Just about every room in our house has toys and age appropriate books.
We do story time, when the weather is appropriate we play outside, we have learning time, on special occasions we do arts and crafts, "cooking" (my daughter loves to help in the kitchen, so we combine ingredients in the mixer or with our hands), sensory time with homemade playdoh, music with dancing and much more. I am also considering doing field-trips, but that can be discussed and determined at a later date, depending on child's age and so on. I was a recreational therapist before I decided to stay home with my daughter, so I love playing with and teaching children.
During drop off time I offer fruit, eggs and toast or another type of appropriate morning food.
Lunch time consists normally of a meat or a starch and a vegetable.
Afternoon snack is normally crackers with cheese, yogurt, or another type of dairy.
In the morning I offer homemade juice. Throughout the day water is in a sippy cup where they can get if thirsty. Lunch time I offer milk.
I try to stick to different, healthy food groups throughout the day.
The other little girl I am watching has been with me since I opened in 2012. Both her parents are high school teachers and are willing to be a reference. I watch her full time but during the summer she will only be with me two days of the week.
Also, during the school year I watch two sisters, 2 and 1. Their mother is an elementary school teacher and doesn't need care during the summer.
The little girl who unfortunately left in 2013, had to leave because her parents were expecting another child and the mother decided to stay home. Her father is a Henrico police officer. They are also willing to be a reference.
I provide everything but diapers, wipes and formula. If you are breastfeeding, I know all about the milk, as I breastfed my daughters. I also know how to use reusable diapers.
