WE ARE LESS THAN THREE HOURS FROM BOSTON...
and...
LESS THAN FIVE HOURS FROM NEW YORK CITY...(the "Ethan Allan Express" and "The Vermonter" on Amtrak run daily from Penn Station to Rutland and Bellows Falls, Vermont...just in case you want to invite some automotively challenged friends from the big city)
THIS WEEKEND IS AVAILABLE...COME AND GET IT WHILE YOU CAN...THERE IS STILL PLENTY OF SNOW ON THE SLOPES...BUT "MUD SEASON" IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
MIDWEEKS (the best time to be on the mountain...when the crowds have vanished and there is no such thing as a lift line) ARE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON!
We are located on 21 of our own beautifully wooded, private and secluded (and often snow covered) acres in the heart of Vermont ski country (we are only ten minutes away from OKEMO and about half an hour from KILLINGTON), with spectacular mountain views from three decks in winter, and the feeling of living in a giant tree house in summer and fall (see photos). On chilly nights, heat is supplied primarily from three wood-burning stoves, two of which are large free-standing fireplaces. There is also a back-up gas heating system throughout the house, just in case you forget (or you just aren't in the mood) to stoke up the fires.
Our large vacation home will accommodate up to seven couples or one or two families. While there are only two "conventional bedrooms" in this three level log home, there are private sleeping spaces (all queen-size) for up to five couples and semi-private sleeping areas for two additional couples or singles. A nice size group would be one, two or three adult couples...with anywhere from zero all the way up to five or six children.
Thinking ahead to summer? We are less than a mile from Lake Ninevah...more than one hundred acres of gorgeous pristine wilderness lake...Lake Pauline, Lake Amhurst, Echo Lake and Plymouth State Park are only minutes away...and our canoe, our fishing dinghy and our two kayaks are all included in summer and fall!
