Fall Foliage almost always peaks right around Columbus Day Weekend in our neck of the woods!
OK, here comes the pitch...
We are LESS THAN THREE HOURS FROM BOSTON...and LESS THAN FIVE HOURS FROM NEW YORK CITY (the "Ethan Allan Express" and "The Vermonter" on Amtrak make daily runs from Penn Station to Rutland and Bellows Falls, Vermont...just in case you want to mention that to a few automotively challenged friends from the big city).
Our large (3-story), year-round, log vacation home will accommodate up to seven couples or one or two families. While there are only two "conventional bedrooms" in this three level log house, there are private sleeping spaces (all queen-size) for up to five couples and semi-private sleeping areas for two additional couples plus additional singles.
The perfect size group would be one, two or three adult couples with anywhere from zero up to five or six little guys.
We are less than a mile from more than 150 acres of pristine LAKE NINEVAH...(Echo Lake, Lake Rescue, Lake Amherst, and Lake Pauline are all only a few minutes away)....and our canoe, kayaks and fishing dinghy are all included in summer and fall.
The moonlight shot of Lake Ninevah at the top of this page was taken in the summer of 1998...and not a bit of it has changed!
Step out onto the upper deck from the master bedroom (any time of year) and you feel like you are in a huge treehouse. In winter months, when the leaves are off the trees, you can see Okemo in the distance...you are only seven miles from Ludlow and downhill skiing...and cross-country is right outside the door! Killington is about half an hour away.
