7-Eleven, Inc., after a number of highly acquisitive years, is offering for the first time more than 200 stores across the country for franchise without the usual franchise fee. Some 37 stores in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan and surrounding areas are included in what the company calls its Zero Franchising Fee Initiative that runs through June 30, 2015, and offers a savings of up to $80,000.
While the more than 200 available stores are located in cities across the country, many of the Zero Franchising Fee opportunities are in markets where 7-Eleven has acquired a significant number of stores. Over the last 4 years 7-Eleven has grown its store base by more than 1,300 units. Now that a 7-Eleven customer base has been established at these locations, the company is looking to transition these stores to franchise operations.
This promises to help scores of business people and ing?©nue entrepreneurs get into business for themselves. The program also is a way existing 7-Eleven franchisees can add stores to their portfolio.
By waiving the initial franchising fee for a select number of lower-volume stores, 7-Eleven is enabling qualified men and women to own a store with easier market entry, less capital risk and with the support of the world's largest retail franchisor.
In addition to the new "Zero Franchise Fee" program, 7-Eleven offers a Gross Income Support Program that provides an allowance up to $30,000 annually for qualifying stores with a gross income of less than $185,000. Plus, 7-Eleven's "Franchise Assistance Program" applies for qualified franchisees to receive a $20,000 loan that does not need to be repaid if the franchisee keeps the store for 2 years.
