Looking for actors for an independent film, Pink Elephant, shooting this summer.
We are looking to cast the following roles:
JULIE: (Lead) 20-25 years, female. Pink hair. Queer fashion. Volunteer building houses in the lower ninth ward. Silently cynical & judgmental towards people who she fears becoming. In the midst of an existential crisis, she struggles in a world full of grey areas to become a "good person".
LANCE: 22-28 years, male. Gay. Alcoholic/addict. Blonde. Makes trouble for himself and the people he surrounds himself with. Smokes constantly saying he's going to quit. Friendly & fun loving but likes to start drama. Perpetually in denial of his own problems.
BRIANNA: 20-25 years, female. Blond sorority girl look. Christian. Over enthusiastic in a cheerleader way. Idealistic. Laughs at own jokes. Struggles with anger problems & anxiety issues rooted in her religious beliefs.
MR. CRAWFORD: 75+ years. Has lived in the Lower Ninth ward of New Orleans his entire life. Was a victim of Katrina. Says "I'll always remember" and "that's my life in a nutshell" a lot.
JANICE: 40+ years, female. Runs volunteer organization rebuilding houses in the lower ninth ward. Very diplomatic. Stern.
ROBERT: 50+ years, male. Misogynist. Homophobe. Alpha male complex. Comes on too strong. Flirty. Lived in New Orleans lower ninth ward his entire life.

PLOT
Julie is having an existential crisis. She is currently a volunteer rebuilding houses in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans. Volunteering is failing to be the fulfilling & purposeful experience she hoped it would be due to the complicated nature of the system. She befriends a new volunteer, Lance, an alcoholic who seems to have vivid hallucinations when intoxicated. Julie & Lance, as a practical joke on a religious volunteer, pretend to heal a few ailing peers. Their spiritual farce creepily produces actual results, conjuring a creature from the spiritual world that is seemingly connected to the drunken "hallucinations" Lance has been having.
