Another Opinion RE No rescues or shelters (EVERYWHERE) hide this posting unhide

QR Code Link to This Post I agree that all legitimate Rescues and Shelters should be able to post their ads.
I also agree that all legitimate Rescues have their animals spayed/neutered and vaccinated.
Not all of them are posting their re-homing fee and, like any other ad without the fee, they're flagged.

I stress the word legitimate because there are so many ads claiming they are private rescues but, if you do the research, they are private individuals taking in stray or "for free" animals found on CL for profit.
One particular rescue stated they were in a City but their listed land line phone # was for a Home Cleaning Service in a different City.
They initially only peddled young kittens but then changed the name of their Rescue when they got outed as a fake.
They now claim to be associated with a dog Rescue of a different name but both are run by the same people who've now expanded to selling dogs.

ANYONE can have a Facebook page and claim to be a Rescue. I've found a few on Adopt-a-Pet and found one on Petfinders.
I do my homework. None were legit Rescues and were also placing ads on CL.

My favorite is the many ads by same women saying she's a foster who's always taking in abandoned very young kittens that require bottle feeding and/or expensive Vet care. (Which doesn't include spay/neuter 'cause her Vet won't do it for kittens under 6 months).
Never posts re-homing fees. Refuses to give Vet's contact info.
She can't keep them because she already has 5 cats of her own and must find them homes. What the....?

Everyone - including Shelters and Rescues - need to post their reasonable re-homing fee and have the pet spayed /neutered/rabies, etc. before they go to a new home.
An animal under 8 weeks should NEVER be re-homed. Too young!!!!
