I'm looking for other musicians who, like me, haven't necessarily played for a long time but would like to get the experience of playing with others and see where it goes.
I learned musical theory and played piano when I was 12, but pursued other interests instead. But at age 50 (I'd like to thing that I look young for my age) I decided to follow my passion. I bought a bass (now have three) and taught myself to play.
I am interested in classic rock, blues, metal, country, oldies, and really will play along to any song with a bass guitar it.
I have played with only a few others, mainly an experienced metal guitarist, and that went very well. So I believe that there is a place in the band community for me, and just trying to find it.
There are many ads for musicians on craigslist. Most prefer pro players. Some day I may fit into that category. I may fit in now. But this seems to be the first step in playing in a band and someday soon on a stage, which is my dream.
