Bid Whist and House Parties for the Grown N Sexy (citywide)
For professionals 30+.
Established Bid Whist Group seeking new members for its 2X monthly events/get togethers, day trips and house parties. We are the largest active Chicago bid whist group (150+ members) and play all over the city. Newbies welcome. We get together during the week and also weekends. Day trips and events are scheduled. For example, some events--the Cincinnati Music Festival and the annual Soul Train cruise to the Caribbean.
We enjoy a good time, fellowship, and the occasional trash talk. But mostly it's a way for grown ups to wash off the work week and look forward to a good time!
Events are held in public places for new members to get a feel, see the layout and make friends. After you've attended several get togethers and we know you, you will be put on the list to potentially attend some of our private house parties.
We also go steppin' (if you're into that), line dancing and to live performances/music events.
For card parties, you are welcome to bring a guest, but they must register at the event's intake table.
We believe in safety! Each new member will be vetted and you will get a chance to mix, mingle, get to know the Organizers and members of the group before you commit.
We hold events 2X per month, and if last minute events come up that we think the membership will be interested in, we post that too.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Mature card players who like a good time.
You do not have to be a card player to join, perhaps you just like the company of mature adults and the vibe bid parties bring.
People who respect other members' dignity and well-being. We play for blood but there is no put down.
People who can afford a nominal membership fee once approved. This is to help with group expenses and to keep the 'tire kickers' out.
WHO WE ARE:
Mature, grown, employed individuals who want the fellowship of other adults in a safe, controlled environment.
Adventure-seekers who want more out of life.
Average age: 45+
Younger members welcome as long as you meet the membership criteria.
Although primarily African American, we are race agnostic. Come as you are.
