Hi, Looking for childcare but not sure if we are close by? I have had many people call and ask where I am located. I dont see many people posting for my area, so give me a call and we can map out the directions for you, and see if I am accessable. Some of the major streets around me are: Raymond, Shelby, Prospect, Keystone, Merridian, Pleasant Run Pkwy. I am 5 min from downtown. I am 5 min from Garfield Park. So I hope this helps!
Do you provide meals:
Yes we provide meals at appropriate times. If your child is here during these current times, this is what they will get.
Breakfast 8-9 am
Lunch-12-1 pm
Snack 4 pm
Dinner 6 pm
Typical breakfast may be one of the following:
Cereal, Eggs &Toast, Oatmeal w fruit, Pancakes, French Toast, Or warmed Donuts with Juice.
Typical Lunch may be one of the following:
Mac n Cheese, Hot dogs, Ravioli or Speg., Sandwhiches and Crackers, Soup and Grilled Cheese.
Typical Snacks may be one of the following:
Granola Bar, Cereal Bar, Fruit snacks, Raisins, Marshmellows & Crackers.
Do you make the child take a nap?
We do not "make" the child nap, but we will require quiet time after lunch. We will make a pallet, or put them down in a designated spot and ask that they try to take a nap. Older children can read, color, or enjoy another "quiet" activity.
Do you drink, smoke or do drugs?
My partner and I drink socially on a very rare occasion. It would NEVER be around your child or at anytime while they are in my care. We do not smoke in the house, or allow smoking in our house, and Drugs are out of the question. I would be happy to provide you with a drug screen or background check if you are willing to pay for it.
Will you leave the home with my child?
On occasion, if we can manage the transportation, and we have both adults available, we might go for a walk, play outside, go to the park, or join a festival near by, but only after you are comfortable with me as your sitter, and I will provide proof of liscence and things to put your mind at ease.
Will you leave my child with anyone else?
My children help out and like to take the children outside or for walks up and down the street. We are always in eyesight, and would never let them out of our site or in any danger. Other then that your children will not be left with anyone else!
What hours are you available.? Do you do nights, weekends, and overnights.
I am available when you need me. However I prefer Sundays off. Child care is what I do, so I have no set hours. I will need to know your schedual in advace because I run my life around your schedual. Over night charge is a flat rate of $35 (for one child), you will have till 11 the next day to pick up your child. I will then provide breakfast and a healthy snack the next day!
What are your rates?
My Rates are as follows: $25 a day, (for one child) I am paid upfront, no later then the day of service. If you do not bring your child, I still get paid for that day, as I showed up for my job... If for some reason (very rare and only emegency situations) I call off, I will refund you for that day (to those who pay in advance).
Are you licensed?
No. I am just an old fashioned babysitter that has been doing this for about 15 years. I have watched children with CP, autism, Seizure disorders and more. I am CPR and First Aid Trained. I have an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting and have taken classes in Infant Choking.
Anything you feel needs to be said upfront about you or your childcare?
Yes, I live with my life partner. She is 34, and has a son of her own. We have been together for 5 years now. I like to be upfront about this, so there is no questions later. She works on and off during the day, and will help here from time to time.
On an average, how many kids will you watch? Do you have any kids of your own?
I do have children of my own. I have two, and my partner has 1. They are 11, 14, and 17. They attend charter schools and make very good grades. Typically I will take on 2 full time families, and 2 part time families, and the hours will vary. The amont of kids vary depending on size of family.
Do you have room to play?
This is a 4 bedroom house. I have a very large entry room and front room. Large front yard and back yard, both fenced in. Tv time is done in the front room, Eating is done in the kitchen, or with a tv tray in front room floor.
