.................. BUGS ON A WINDSHIELD [Biblical] ...................
You ever start out on a trip [born] and pretty soon you have a few bugs splattered on your clean windshield [ challenges of life ]. Part way through the trip you stop to get gas [ church, prayer, studying the scriptures ], and try to get as many bugs off as you can [ repentance and forgiveness ] only to find out that some of them just won't come off [memory]. Now you find out that every thing you see for the rest of the trip [ life ] is not as clear as it was when you started and by the end of the trip your eyes are sore and you are a little cranky.[ you judge things and others by your memories].
Now look up and read Matthew 19:14, Mark 10: 14-15, and Luke 18: 16-17
Most little children do not have very many bugs on their windshield and are therefore very honest with you and very believing in what you try to teach them. They will also tell you if they don't like you that day........
We are supposed to become like little children in our thinking and learning desires throughout our lives.
We are mostly good people but we are imperfect people so some of the stuff we do or have done ends up as bugs on other peoples windshields and they judge our church, our cars, our friends and us through THEIR windshield which has bugs on it, just like OURS has bugs on it. Although we have developed to become better people, they will still remember us for our past as we will remember them for their past.
............ BUGS ON A WINDSHIELD IN A DIFFERENT VIEW ...................
Our windshield of life is clear when we are born. As we experience things, they begin to coat our windshield [like bugs] so that anything that happens to us after any experience will color the way we see other things.
One person will see an experience in one way but another person will see the same experience from a different angle. Throw a snake on a small child or throw them in the water when they cannot swim and they will usually be terrified of snakes or water for the rest of their life because that has become a bug on their windshield of life. Other people will love snakes and water because they never had that terrifying experience.
Beat a puppy or dog and they will have a fear of being beat and will usually flinch anytime someone raises their hand toward them because that has become a bug on their windshield of life.
As we deal with different people, we need to try to see things through their eyes and realize that we cannot change the way they react to different things. We may be able to help them understand their fear or reaction but it is ultimately up to them to try to minimize or change their responses, likes or dislikes.
Many times we will not even know someone has reacted differently from us until it is too late and they have withdrawn from our circle of.
