Coffee company seeks event staff for farmers markets

Invalsa Coffee and Valverde Coffee Roasters is a family-owned, specialty coffee importing and roasting company that purchases high quality coffee directly from small farmers in Latin America. Our coffee roastery and distribution center is located in Salisbury, at the Crossroads Plaza.

We are looking for motivated, professional, and friendly people to represent us this summer at weekly farmer's markets, occasional demonstration and tasting events, and also during the 10-day Topsfield Fair in October.

To get to farmer's markets, you must have a car, and the car needs to be able to fit the tent, tables, and other equipment (it all should fit in most 4-door cars, if you can fold down the back seat). You'll need to drive to and from farmer's markets, and to set up and take down a 10x10' tent and display tables, by yourself. We will help you set up the first market and train you on how to sell the coffee; after that you will be by yourself at each market.

We sell coffee at three farmer's markets every week (on Thursdays and Saturdays), which run through October. So you need to be available either from 11am-7pm on Thursdays, or 7:30am-2pm on Saturdays, or both.

Once you are accustomed to selling coffee by yourself at farmer's markets, you may also be asked to do promotion events (tasting tables) at grocery stores and food markets where we sell our coffee, which may also be during the weekends.

A friendly attitude and willingness to talk with customers about different coffees is essential, and prior customer service experience would be useful.

Pay is $10/hour, paid semi-monthly (twice a month), and we will be reimburse your mileage at $0.35/mile.

For people who do a great job at this and are interested in coffee, there could be opportunities for full-time work (i.e. coffee roasting, or sales) with the company in the future.

To apply, please send your resume, and a cover letter or email message explaining why you think you would do well selling coffee at farmer's markets, and please confirm the following:

• You have a car that can fit farmer's market equipment (a fold-up tent and tables, plus boxes of coffee)
• You are available either Thursdays from 11am-7pm, or on Saturdays from 7:30am-2pm
• You will be physically able to set up and take down a 10x10' tent and display tables by yourself at farmer's markets.

Thanks -- we look forward to hearing from you!
Please, no phone calls or visits.
