A growing satirical news website (a la The Onion) based in Vancouver, is currently looking for satirical writers. No previous experience is required however some form of previous creative/comedy writing is ideal. We are looking to add to our team of writers and create a space where new comedy writers can express themselves and gain experience reaching a growing audience.
At present this site is mainly football (soccer) based, as this is our niche. However we want to branch out and cover gaming news, other sports stories and entertainment. Some stories on our site are very loosely based on soccer/sports so an expert knowledge isn't a necessity. We are looking for creative and funny writers who are interested in satire, parody and all forms of comedy. We welcome all forms of comedy ideas and we are not afraid to take risks and branch out in random directions.
Unfortunately at present this is NOT a paid position to the size of our site. But all writers will be credited with a link to their Twitter, personal blog, Facebook, etc. We also advertise the majority of articles so our reach is quite large.

• Some creative writing experience would be great with comedy writing exp an obvious asset.
• Interest in a career in comedy writing.
• Basic Knowledge of SEO an asset but not required.
• Knowledge of social media an asset but not required.
• Acting and video editing experience an asset but again, not required.
• Not afraid to take risks with your writing but knows the difference between satirical and offensive writing
