I am a film student at The Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg, and I am looking for actors that can fill the following positions in my short film. I would like to hold casting calls very soon with an aim to set up production during one or two weekends that fall between 4/17/15 to 5/24/15.

Overview:
Tila Mackenroe is a young girl learning how to deal with her fragile family on their worst day of every year: Tila's birthday. Have you ever thought of what it would be like to not enjoy your own birthday? Well Tila Mackenroe knows that feeling all too well. Tila is turning ten years old and still trying to get a grasp on her reality. With a less than ideal home-life, Tila has often looked to her mother's eight ball for guidance.

Tila is very internal, she often keeps to herself at home and at school. She relies on an 8-ball to make decisions. She stands up for herself to her brother, but will always run away because she does still fear him. She wants a connection with her mother above anyone else, but her mother passed giving birth to her.

James is very lost. He is hanging out with the wrong crowd and as a result has spent time in juvenile detention. He misses his mother incredibly and loses no chance to remind Tila her birth is the reason why their mother is gone. He is starting to pick up their father's terrible habits.

An incredibly absent parent. He is an alcoholic, constantly having arguments with James and leaving the house.
