Job Description:
SmartSource is seeking Field Migration Consultants to perform a Windows 7 Migration onsite at a large disposal organization. The project would be performed during or before business hours begin which start times will be dependent on the location. The most important skill will be one's ability of fostering teamwork in the workplace. It is the increased likelihood of a project's success since teamwork combines the strengths of all members of the team. These strengths will form a combined advantage that can help the team address any complicated task at hand. The opportunity will be to work at a designated location providing migration support for a Windows XP-Windows 7 migration as well as deployment of new computer related hardware which include desktops and laptops. As a Field Migration Consultant, you will be a resource for a Refresh Deployment involving the installation of a new operating system (win 7) on customer PCs at multiple customer locations; (both desktops and laptops). While there is a 4 hour guarantee the Field Migration Consultant will be expected to stay onsite until the work is completed. NO EXCEPTIONS
Required skill set/background:
o Technicians may be required to determine the IP address and verify network connectivity (cmd, ipconfig, and ping).
o Technicians will be required to map network drives and install printers in Windows 7.
o Technicians will be required to add computers to domain.
o Technicians will be required to add user to local admin group.
• Technicians will be required to find and attach *.pst files in Outlook.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
