Don't Rent The Rug Doc! The rug doc is very bad for your carpets. First, if you do it wrong, it will put way too much water into your padding. Thus, making it easy for mold and mildue to grow. Or, it can start to disolve your padding. Not to mention that the carpet will be wet for days, and smelly. Second, who cleans those machines when there brought back? If someone just rented it to clean up after there sick dog, then they bring it back, and you rent it, your taking there dog sick into your home. Gross!!! Lastly, the chemical (shampoo) is horriable. It will strip any protector (stainguard/scotchguard) from your carpet, leaving it vunerable to staining. Also, there shampoo will leave a nasty residue on your carpet making dust and dirt gather faster. I can't tell you how many people have seriously damaged there carpets by renting one of these machines. I see it almost every day. They leave dark gray, nasty streaks in the carpet that won't ever come out. Do yourself a favior, don't rent one. Call me instead. By the time you go to the store, pay to rent one, buy there shampoo, go home and do the work, then drive it back to return it, you could have just spent a little more, and have a professional come out to do it for you, with much better results. I use the Dry Foam system from Electrolux. It is totally safe for kids and pets. It drys in about an hour, and is safe to walk on right away.
