Duke a Lab Mix (Springfield)

There is a small adoption fee to help cover the cost of the vetting done for our sponsored animals. We do not give out information about our rescue or a particular animal without SPEAKING to a potential adopter. Please leave your number in any email inquiries

We first met a 6 month old Duke when our rescue transported and paid for him to be neutered and have a rabies vaccine. We tried to take him into our fostering rescue at that time but the owner loved him. 8 months later we get a call that one of the neighbors does not like him using his yard for a bathroom so he is chained up when outside and, by the way, he is scratching so much that he has lost some fur and has some bloody patches on his back.

When we picked up Duke it was obvious that he was very uncomfortable and he was undernourished, and dirty. The vet said he had a terrible flea infestation and we began the process of getting him healthy. He is beginning to get his coat back, is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heart worm negative.

Duke is such a sweet dog, is almost house broken and beginning to walk well on a leash. We are working on crate training . He is good with other dogs and children.
At 14 months he is young enough to still have some puppy in him but old enough to not be too.
