Pianist, composer, and vocalist Zach Zaitlin (BA - Music, Swarthmore College, 2006) is currently interviewing new prospective students for private piano lessons -- as well as music theory, voice, composition/songwriting, and performance coaching -- in Falmouth, just a short drive from downtown Portland.

Zach brings a friendly attitude and over 7 years of experience as a teacher of piano, songwriting/composition, and vocal performance, as well as a rich background as a performing singer-songwriter and classical pianist. As a music teacher, Zach strives, with a patient, engaging approach, to develop independently motivated, inspired, and well-rounded musicians aged 4 to adult. By emphasizing critical thinking, exposing students to a rich variety of beautiful repertoire, and building a strong foundation of technical skills and theory knowledge, Zach hopes to instill in students a lifelong love of music while cultivating character, confidence, and self-discipline. Zach's students also benefit from fun and inspiring performance opportunities and group music "Play Dates", both formal and informal, throughout the school year. Zach's sensitivity and expertise as a student-centered educator have been honed as a faculty member at 317 Main Community Music Center in Yarmouth, and as a music and Spanish teacher at Friends School of Portland.
