Band that takes traditional Irish/Scottish fiddle tunes and adds classically-influenced counterpoint and a rock rhythm section seeks fiddler.
Ideal candidate is technically capable (classical background helps - some of our repertoire gets out of lower positions and is more violin-y than fiddle-y), has real background in Irish traditional music, is comfortable in amplified environments (pick-up or electric fiddle recommended), and has an open mind for combining multiple styles.
Some start-up rehearsals, but minimal rehearsals afterwards - this is a "do your homework" situation. All gigs are paid. Band is currently gigging with an array of fiddlers, because no one fiddler is able to commit to all gigs at the moment.
