QR Code Link to This Post Because I enjoy turning a wrench, I offer my mechanical knowledge for a pretty low rate. I am very experienced in mechanical work, and do side jobs on the weekends and sometimes after 7:00 on week days with advance notice. I charge a min of $50 for any service,for the first hour and $25 an hour after. A modest $20 travel fee applies when I come to you. Some jobs I have a set price and these prices are on "most vehicles."

Water pump $150 (external as in most American/German vehicles that are not front wheel drive)

Alternator change out is $60. Front mounted and not through the wheel well.

Starter change out is $70.

Brakes are $60 an axle for disc, and $100 for drums. (if additional work other than pads, i.e. new calipers, rotors, just slightly higher)

Oil change $20 with any other service. $40 with no service, you supply oil and filter, $60 if I supply.

Differential fluid change $20-60, depending on vehicle.

Pinion seal $100.

Fuel Pump change out $150-200 most vehicles.

Carb rebuilds (rebuild only) $125

Tune ups are based on vehicle.

Detailing is also available. Basic (wash, vacuum and wipe down of interior) is $50 and the deluxe (wash, wax, vacuum, carpet and seat cleaning (fabric) toothbrush cleaning of inside and windows) $120.

Struts: Complete change out with new cartridge and spring $100/ pair. If reusing your springs and just changing the cartridge $150 pair for front. $200/pair new cartridge and spring. Reusing spring, $250 for rear.

Coil Spring conversion from air bag suspension $200/ axle (most vehicles, I use Strutmasters as a source)

Serpentine belt replacement $40 front placement. $50 for side.

Inner/outer tie rods $80-$140 and ball joints based on vehicle.

I can do many other jobs also, but I don't do jobs that are over 4 hours in length. This is a hobby, not my livelihood.

I have a very well equiped garage and can do many services at my home. I am straight forward, ethical and clean in my work. If you do not need work done, I will show/tell you. You do have to purchase all parts and fluids up front, but I can help you locate those items. I have been doing this for a while now, and know where to go for most parts.
