I love teaching music and seeing a student succeed and gain satisfaction. My main goal is for the lessons and the guitar playing to be fun because I believe that the best way to get better is for the student to be excited to play/practice on their own.

We may go over things like different ways of visualizing the fretboard, the different chord forms and chord voicings, techniques for practicing, improvisation, right and left hand form/technique, and more. But everyone needs something unique, so a good teacher is always able to work on the fly and adjust lessons to best benefit the student, and that's what I try to do.

If you like blues, we'll do blues. Rock, soul, bluegrass, country, jazz, celtic... any style will work just fine for getting you better at playing the guitar. So we'll go in the direction that you want.

I welcome students of all ages, all skill levels, and of all styles. Lessons can be held at my house in Medford (near Magoun Sq, Somerville, but just over the Medford line) or at your place if it's within a couple miles.

I myself have been playing the guitar for 27 years and teaching for four years. I am a local musician performing regularly in the area both as the leader of my own group and backing up other artists.
