QR Code Link to This Post Join us in bringing some EXTRA SPECIAL Christmas entertainment to the most elderly of our elders in NURSING HOMES..... because for many of them this will be their last Christmas. Let's bring them the old classic Christmas tunes that they magically respond to, tunes that were written during their youth..... tunes like "White Christmas", "Christmas Song", "Silver Bells", "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and we'll also do tunes like "Jingle Bell Rock", "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree...... But, let's do it RIGHT !

There is a lot of mediocre and amateur hour entertainment brought to the sick and lonely people in nursing homes during the Christmas season... It's usually provided by well meaning and wonderful people like the local Boy Scout troop, the Girl Scout troop, the local churches, the local schools, the Rotary etc. Big hearted individuals. God bless them. And while there are certainly exceptions let me just say I have seen LOTS of uninspiring (and sometimes just plain bad) entertainment in these places.

HOWEVER, we think that amateur hour entertainment is no way to show these very elderly and unhappy people that they are VALUED. Highly valued. After all for some of these people this will be their last Christmas......

Help us bring them a gift of SPECIAL entertainment so that they can be made to FEEL special ! We are recruiting really good musicians and singers to form 6 to 8 person bands to perform these great Christmas tunes from Swing Era (30's/40's and a little 50s). We will transport these sick, lonely people back in time, a time when they were young and happy...... Let's bring them QUALITY music because we owe our elders so much!!

Our musician AND non-musician volunteers say that these one hour shows for the sick and lonely people in nursing homes are some of the best moments of their lives !! This is representative of what we do from January to November:
