House Rabbit Special Needs for Rehoming (United States)

My husband and I recently rescued a pure bred female rex from a local breeder who is moving, and had her in some pretty bad conditions. She has been kept in a cage the size of her body nearly her whole life, had very bad sore hocks on all of her feet which we are currently treating, and hyperthyroidism which means she has an active thyroid and must eat and stay active more than most other rabbits. She is two years old and her name is Lucy.

We do not have to rehome her but we already have two rabbits who she is not getting along with so well as they are already bonded and we would like to see her go to a responsible owner who will give her the love and care she deserves.

Lucy is the sweetest girl we've ever had, and we are both very experienced rabbit owners. She loves to snuggle and be pet and rubbed all over, however she is aggressive with other rabbits so we would prefer a home with older children and no other rabbits as she is not spayed.

She mostly litter box trained except for a few poops here and there which is perfectly normal and she is great with people.
We will be charging a small adoption fee of $30 to make sure her fur-ever home is responsible and willing to dedicate a lot of time and effort into her care as she will need extra.

If you are at all interested we would like to set up a time to meet and interview to ensure Lucy goes to a very good home and there will be a screening process to find the right owners for her, you can call and ask for Jenn or Zach
