First, this isn't an ad looking for household help. In fact, it's just the opposite. I'm looking to 'adopt' a few people this holiday season to make sure they not only have a great Christmas, but to maybe help them get over the hump of being in a bad situation. (and yes, this is a real ad - it's December 2nd and today was an incredibly nice, sunny day. The Chiefs are on the ropes, but a win against the Jets tomorrow would help get them back on track. I'm probably going to hit up the Legends tomorrow and fight the crowds to get a bit of shopping done and out of the way. I'm saying this to hopefully convince you I'm real, I'm local, and I'm serious.)
Basically, I'm looking to help some people that have fallen on hard times. Maybe a loss of job, health prob, jail, etc. It doesn't matter to me what the issue is, but I expect you to be honest about it.
Maybe you need diapers for a baby, clothes for a teen, baseball mit for a boy or volleyball for a daughter. Maybe you need help fixing a computer for your kids or might need help finding local resources to help your situation. Whatever the need, please reply and let me know about your story.
I post in this section because I figure those who are looking to help themselves are worthy of a hand-up. I was once in a bad place financially where I couldn't really afford much for my son. Now that I'm financially secure, I want to pay it forward and offer a little help to someone else. Not a lot, but a little. Sometimes that's all people need.
Please don't ask me for money, because I've been burned too many times for that. Please don't ask me for anything other than the basics. Same goes for cigarettes. Or gas money. Or car repairs. I'm legit and I expect you and your situation to be as well.
I do NOT expect you to pay me back someday in the traditional sense. Basically, I hope you will pay it forward much like I'm doing now. I might be able to help you find work if you are looking, but it depends on your trade/skill. If I can't put you to work, I'm sure I know some people that might. Maybe you're a carpenter. Maybe you can sew and hem clothes. Maybe you are an amazing graphic artist. If you do have a service you can trade, I'm open to suggestions.
If I am unable to help you please know there are many other people and some organizations that are willing to give you a hand up. Don't give up. Like I mentioned, I was in a very bad and overwhelming spot once before - and not that long ago. Keep pounding. Get better every day. Don't give up. If you have a family, don't just work hard for you - do it for them. They NEED you.
