I am an experienced guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter looking to form a super-sick, energetic rock band. Influences include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Green Day, Parliament Funkadelic, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Ramones, Floyd, REM, Beatles, Zeppelin, Radiohead - and, on the mellower side of things, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Jeff Buckley, Neil Young, etc.
The deal is this: I am currently shooting a Kickstarter in order to fund my first record. Tentatively speaking, I would like to use this material - which is more or less demo'ed out - as a jump-off point. My dream is to find players that dig these songs, want to start playing them together, and then open up into democratic songwriting in the future.
My vision includes the following, in no particular order: touring, playing percussion together in a tour van, light shows, Beach Boys-like vocal harmonies, some funky-ass shit, fuzz pedals, ill grooves, getting super-freaky on stage, acoustic encores.
Your energy is much, much more important than your chops, but you gotta groove. Maybe you're a theater major at UVM with a hankering to give the drums a spankering? Maybe you're a jazz student with a rap sheet. Maybe you're a dancer who just wants to get on the road and play some tambourine? Maybe you're a bedroom songwriter who uses music as a way to see God explode into multi-colored fractals. Maybe just thinking about music makes you want to cry.
