Industry

My wife and I are both experienced in the music industry - me as a photojournalist (you will see household-name musicians in my portfolio), she as a freelance art director for bands including the Drop Kick Murphys. We have both designed CD art for bands large and small.

This is that rare combination of what we are both good at and LIKE to do. What we DON'T like is the insertion of middlemen between us and the musicians we work for. We especially don't like that producers, managers and labels are all taking a slice of what musicians are paying for: the look and feel that THEY want in their graphics.

So we are trying an experiment: Seeing if any musicians are interested in working directly with graphic production. We don't do country - sorry - nothing personal, but... just, no. Literally can't stand for it. We love punk, like classical and listen to most everything in between.

So here's the deal: $100 buys you everything you need to take to a printer for posters, tee-shirts, CD graphics - that includes photography, graphic and typographic design. No web work included, but if you need it, we can talk. Most likely, you will use the images we create together to create your own web page (or get some kid down the street to do it for you).

Interested? Let's meet in Newburyport or Portsmouth and figure out how much fun we can have. We're not in it for the $, but at the same time, the price is non-negotiable as: 1. Any band that can't come up with $100 to make themselves look like they spent $10,000 isn't worth our time, and 2. there is some cost associated with this work - beyond our time, for which we'll be making about $5/hour.
